liongeorge 7
I am going to start lamping with my bedi x whippet bitch . I have a decent lamping set up that I use with my rifle it has a dimmer and red filter so as not to spook the bunnies.I have not been lamping with adog for years. Do I use the filter and dimmer or is loads of light a bonus to dazzle the rabbit and let the dog see it better. Any advice greatfully recieved. George Quote Link to post
Top Lamper 2k10 169
use the lamp on full mate with the filter on its always good to hav your dog run on the filter because you sometimes get close to clappers but not always when running the rabbit mate sometimes if you shake the lamp side to side canny fast when the dog is running the rabbit it sometimes dazzles the rabbits and gives the dog a better chance to catch the rabbit atb mate hope this helps mate Quote Link to post

Wild_and_Irish 11
I walk up with it on then slip the dog and rip it off. the rabbits tend not to move in the red filter but the beam isn't strong enough with it on Quote Link to post

allenyeates 3
Personally I never use a filter with the dog, if rabbits too spooky I just give the area a rest for a bit then go on a good dark windy night. Just my way, but may not suit others. Quote Link to post

ratter1234 1
some places i go the rabbits ara spooked easily so i use a green filter as they show up clear as day and give a better beam for the dog ro run down or around! just my view. Quote Link to post
ASME IX 1
iv always used a filter until i got my self a variable power version, guess its just force of habit. basicly as the dog gets 3/4 way down to the bunny slowly flip the filter of then the rest is luck.lol. if i had to choose between filter and no filter id have to say no filter with variable brightness. asme ix Quote Link to post
