Treacle Trackpad 6
I was out with a mate today and sorted a .25" grouping 50grn V-Max load for my .222. I don't get to do too many long shots (long for the triple) but managed my furthest shot so far with a 244 yard rabbit. I got home and told the missus but she couldn't have been less interested so I had to tell someone . Quote Link to post

njc110381 0
Nice shooting fella! I've pulled off some pretty exciting shots at about the same range. 250 yards was the best I ever did on a bunny and that was with the .22 Hornet. Without rangefinders and dialling in the scope I think that's quite a good effort. I've matched that range with my Ackley Hornet since and every time I'm really impressed with myself! I admire people who can pull off really long range shots on small pests. It takes some serious skill! Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Any bunny with any calibre over 200 is worth a shout!! Quote Link to post

Treacle Trackpad 6
Thanks fellas. I had just zeroed at 1.2" high at 100yds so with the cross hair resting on the rabbit's back it was a clean kill. I have just bought a Leup with target turrets so will have a go at dialing in when I get sorted. I want to see how far I can push the Triple!! Quote Link to post

jayjay 264
cracking bit of shooting that mate, ,a rabbit at that distance is not much of a target, keep at it,the furthest and best shot i made with my .222 was at a fox and i paced it out and it was 238-239 good paces,i was well happy. all the best, jay. FOXHUNTER 5,021
Nice shot mate , it is a very satisfying feeling. I also have to hold over and shot a hare in the head a couple of weeks ago at 277 yards with my .243 holding over 10 inches. Long range shooting is very satisfying but you need all the gear. My mate is into long range stuff and has just had a custom .243 made . He had 2 shots the other night dialling in and shot 2 hares (1st shot kills ) at 500 yds and 470 yds both ranged with the Leicas. Keep at it mate !!! Quote Link to post
Treacle Trackpad 6
Aye, a Leica LRF is on the shopping list, I used my mates to range the shot and was very impressed. LRF + Exbal should see me right for a start. Quote Link to post
