Change of mind !!

Yesterday after work took the mutt for a walk and thought fancy a mooch with the air rifle. So got ready and headed off to my permission . A little bit breeze was blowing quite nice with it being warm . Decided to check my zero first of all and spied a tiny round pellet sized marking on a bit wood . Paced out a good 30 paces as i normally do and settled down using me bag as a rest. Not bang on but in the kill zone and i blame the breeze and bit wobble on my behalf .

 

 

Happy enough with that it was time to go and do a bit stalking . Could see a few out and tried to stick to the shadows slowly weaving my way closer till right in front of me 2 cock pheasants came tear arsing through the hedge . They were scrapping big style and were oblivious to me but resulted in them spooking the rabbits little buggers was tempted to dish them some lead but resisted lol.

 

Moved to a different spot and spied a squeeker sitting out so moved in a bit closer . Just got in range when a adult hopped out next to it . At this point i was kneeling so opted to take the big one out first and hopefully the squeeker would stay put. Crosshairs on the kill zone , steady the old breathing and smack bingo the accupell sends this rabbit to sleep. What is it with squeekers they just seem oblivious to everything around them at times . Lights out for him to. 2 in the bag and time to have a wander else were. Did`nt see anything else and was debating to head off . Decided to head back to were those crazy pheasants had interupted my stalking.

 

Quick scan and spies and rabbit munching away so sets of on the stealth walk slowly closing the gap till eventually i was in striking distance . Set my self and calmed everything down before pulling the trigger . Number 3 in the bag . Picks buggs up and turns around to head off back in the direction that i came and could see a squeeker and a bigger rabbit sitting with there backs to me . Half way towards them the big 1 lifts its head so i stop and leave it for a few minutes to let it settle befor moving in closer. In range and cross hairs on the adult and its another rabbit on his way to the buggsy heaven . The little un bolted a a few yards and stood on hind legs mistake he was back flipping his way to join the others .

 

SO pleased i did stay paid in the end . Heres the first 2

Not back to work till tuesday so think i will be back out dishing some lead .

Nice one, i havent been on my most fruitfull permission in weeks, so im gagging to get back on there! Im hoping they will have got more confident and started venturing out, especially since its spring time!
