hi guys,

 

well decided to have another walk around my new permission today and it wasnt long before the first rabbit was in the bag...

 

i was set up on the side of a horse dung mound (been dry for what seems like a few weeks) and if formed kind of a u or trench with warrens either side so i thought i could keep my eye on both and double my chances... it paid off....

 

was in the prone position looking forward, nothing happening and looked over my shoulder to see a young female bunnie sunning herself on the grass..... well a very careful turn around and lined her up, 42m so half mil dot hold over and whack... down she went

left her there and stayed prone and waited, quick look over my shoulder and small bunnie was sitting along the edge of the brambles so again, slow and careful turn around and lined it up... 25m so 1/4 hold under and whack another one down..

pellet went a little bit left which was probably the wind, but went straight through the neck and spinal cord, dead before it hit the ground!! i couldnt believe it but looked over my shoulder again and ANOTHER youngen was hopping about along the bramble line... this was just too easy!? 32m and another one in the bag!!

again, didnt allow enough compensation for wind and the shot was a little to the left and went straight through the spinal cord again, which killed it out right but wasnt happy with the odd gust that happen every now n then, would rather a constant wind... no jokes please :tongue2:

 

decided to have a quick walk through the woods and another youngish rabbit bolted then stopped right infront of me long enough to rest on a fence post and wham, 4 rabbits gutted and bagged up, 8 this week and i have only spent a couple of hours at a time, well chuffed!!

on another note though, do you think this rabbit had a tummy ache.....

gave me the right hebey jebeys when i saw it!! a whole intestine's full of worms!?

 

spoke to the owner and he is going to ask on my behalf for the permission to shoot on the neighboring land as the rabbits seem now to be coming from all directions!?

 

its on!!

oh yes farmer!! i have just got a ghillie suit from ebay and it comes with a gun wrap so will change oit to that when it comes but in the mean time it REALLY works for me!! yours looks great in real tree :thumbs:

well aaron i actually put (warning) on the header just for you buddy :thumbs: as i remember you asked mr phantom to do it when he was doing a little disecting of one of his kills.... dont worry i wont go that far.... yet :tongue2:
