murphymax 9 Posted April 28, 2010 Report Share Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) Here are is a picture of the 2 Foxes i Shot last night top one is a Dog bottom one is a baron Vixen. Dog was shot @ 186 yards and the Vixen was shot @292 yards, these ranges were verified by my range finder after walking to collect the Foxes and then ranging back to the truck, had been after these for a couple of nights needless to say there is another 4 in the area and they are very very Lamp shy. Had a call from a not so local farmer who was missing Lambs, turns out that its a few field 70 acres which backs onto moorland you know the type of area it goes on for miles, its very obvious that someone has been lamping there before , as soon as you pick a fox up in the beam its OFF big time, hence the long distances that they have been shot at. Were shot using my 243 with home loads, Speer 90 grain Spitzer heads and 34.0g H-Varget powder Will need to try some daylight calling to get the others as its not very likely i will get a shot at these, will keep you all posted on any further progress. Wait till Sunday i will show you how its done WATCH AND LEARN... If you are wondering what i am talking about, i have taken dave under my wing and shown him how to call and shoot FOXES, you could say he was my apprentice GONE are the 4 year apprenticeships he will need at least 9 years LOL Although i have been doing it for around 35 years (fox control) i am still learning as well, try and not get to scared this time dave, i promise not to take the truck places that are to scarey for you that you jump out and say you will walk the next bit HE HE HE.
