stuck bone

Recommended Posts

Dont know if anyone else has had this problem before this morning went out to pin back the doors on our ferret court

And noticed one of our white jills had its mouth half open and couldnt close it we caught her up and my daughter opened the jills

mouth and a small rabbit bone was wedged on her back teeth my daughter put her fingers in and pulled it off her teeth which came off quite easerly as it did on the other occasions this happened this is about the 4th time this has happened over the years to different ferrets we normally always feed whole gutted rabbit or birds with feathers on etc and j.w.b dry food if freezers are empty which is not very often Is this just a 1 in a million freak occurance or has anyone else had this happen ???

Had this once with one of my jills, i looked at her and then had to look back as i seen her mouth was open abit and her tougne was showing as if she was being cheeky and sticking her tounge out but when i opened her mouth i found the small bone stuck to her tooth at the back was quite hard to dislodge so got small screwdriver and it poped out with ease now i just let them eat most of the rabbit and now that it is coming into the warmer weather the rabbits wont be left in as long as during the winter months.

Iv had rib bones stuck across the pallette of my lurcher pup jammed between his left teeth and right teeth a couple times. I notice him chewing a lot with his mouth open and pawing at his mouth and wiggling his head side to side obviously distressed by it. When i look its bone, i just stick my finger in there and dislodge it.

aye had it happen twice with the same ferret, my current albino bitch, always seems to be the disc sections of rabbit spines that get stuck

Thats right johnboy its the disc from the rabbits spine that have got lodged on the ferrets teeth on all the 4 occasions that it has happened to us over the years it must be the because the shape of the bone ???
