cunninghamb 2
Hello all, my mate has a hw90k that has a problem. About a year ago we traveled all the way up to Campbelltown to a permission that we had got. When we got onto the permission my AA wouldn't take a charge so we were down to his gun, then his gun packed in . It still annoys me so thats how I'm still talking about it Anyway once he broke the barrel and cocked it, it wasn't firing when he pulled the trigger, only after so many pulls of the trigger, not good! He manged to fire it into the ground and we set off to my realtions where we were staying for our "shooting" trip . We were puzzeld by it, so we decided to try and cock it again (with out loading it I must add) when he pulled the barrel down it wasn't cocking, I mean if you pulled it back to where it would cock so you could load a pellet, it wasn't. It would just try and close, so it wasn't cocking. Sorry if this doesnt make any sense! The gunshop said that it is the gasram thats buggerd. Does this sound right? If so where can one purchase a gasram and what sort of dosh are we talking? Thanks very much in advanced, All The Best Quote Link to post

Night Hunter 109
I would tend to agree with slingshot mate if it is under tention it sounds like the lever that locks the ram in the cocked position in the trigger mechanism may be worn or broken not sure but could possibly even be a broken spring I sorted a mates gun once that was doing the same thing but he was lucky it turned out the trigger setting screw required adjustment as the trigger mechanism just was not catching I came accross this link hope it helps http://www.airgunforum.co.uk/HW90strip.html Edited April 26, 2010 by Night Hunter Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Hi, mate. Has the stock been removed? 'Cos if it has, the safety needs to be reset as the action's being put back in or it'll feck up the mechanism. I made the same mistake on my own 90. Ooops!! As has been said though, if you've still got normal resistance when you cock the thing, it's not the ram that's at fault. They can be stripped and rebulit so don't worry too much about paying Hull Cartridge Co. sh1t loads for a new ram. The biggest ball-ache is getting it re-filled. Cheers. Edit.... The link that Night Hunter's put on is bang on. An easy DIY job... And show's the trigger problem too. Edited April 26, 2010 by andyfr1968 Quote Link to post
LOGUNSOLO177 0
I have recently stripped and serviced my hw90 following the guide above its not to hard if you have serviced a springer you should be able to handle it no probs!! The only thing I did differant to the guide was not to knock out the pin on the cocking arm I took the barrel off instead. and as andy says first I would use the guide just to take the trigger gaurd off and re-fit it! And having serviced mine its hard to see how the gas ram could be buggered! Its fully stripable and only has a few seals to replace! And if you need any spare parts for the gun go here :- http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=24574&cat=HW90 Edited April 28, 2010 by LOGUNSOLO177 Quote Link to post
cunninghamb 2
Hello all, thanks for the input. Seen my mate last night and he he said that the gasram is cracked. Does anyone know how much a new one would be? As cheap as possible aswell I think Cheers All The Best Quote Link to post
LOGUNSOLO177 0
Looking on the site I linked depending on which part of the ram is cracked and more than likely it will be the expensive one... main piston part of the gas ram is £51.84 and smaller second part is £21.58. Check ot the link - http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?page=6 The two parts are P110 & P116 CHECK THE DIAGRAM - http://www.gunspares.co.uk/showcatimage.asp?id=24574 Hope you get it sorted mate!! andyfr1968 772
There's a guy on here, Donnyc, that sells the rams that Theoben use and the 90 uses a ram of the same make (AWT). Try a search for him and drop him a PM. If he can get one, it'll be a hell of a lot cheaper.. Cheers. Quote Link to post
cunninghamb 2
Cheers mate! It'll be his dad that buys it for him so I recon he will go through a buissness to get one. Will mention it to him though. Cheers mate. All The Best Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
If all else fails, you can replace the ram with a steel spring. Good luck, mate. Cheers. Quote Link to post
