adam scott 1
hello i will be shooting new land this friday coming, i have been watching the land today to figure out flight lines and such! the field is massive so i will take a friend to cover the far side. the crop is red wheat and the first time i have ever shot in the crop. pigeons on it in there plenty. but also there are plenty of rooks on the field today. i am thinking of a useing a couple of full bodied rook decoys to also bring them in. now correct me if i am wrong please. i will place my horse shoe pattern of pigeon decoys out as useual. 30-45 yard slightly to the left of me hide. then the rook deeks out in front of the horse shoe shape say at least 15 yards away from the leading pigeon. i will place the rooks no closer the 10 yards apart as when observing them they tend to feed quite far apart where as pigeons are alot closer together. what do u think? recipe for a winner? or can u help?? vindiesel 1
I've always put the crow decoy's straight infront of me but behind the horseshoe. Pigeon's are funny at time's, but if they've got away in and out you'll be ok Quote Link to post

nasher1 258
I would go with your original plan and go with two crow deeks, if you manage to shoot a couple replace the deeks with them, this early in the season you are going to be shooting older birds and they are a lot harder to fool give it a couple of months and you will have this years young about and its a lot easier atb nasher1 Quote Link to post
