Like KirstysDad, I prefer TEP over thornit- it is based on thornit but has an extra astringent.

The only problem is I can't get hold of any- I followed the EBAY link but it has expired.

I normally get mine from http://www.bichonhotel.co.uk but they have sold out and say they have been leaving messages with the people that make it for months- so they don't know when they will have it back in stock!!!

A friend uses this- naturvet ear wash

http://www.naturaldogs.co.uk/store/naturvet-dog-and-cats/grooming-aids/ear-wash-with-tea-tree-oil-4oz.html

it looks good and I might try it for general cleaning, they say it drowns any mites but I don't know if it kills the eggs like TEP did. Anyone know if it will help with the eggs?

Thanks

BTW

I was told years ago that in an emergency- flushing the ears with a little olive oil can help to drown the mites- never tried it. My boys love olive oil and would spend the whole day licking each others ears!!!

Thanks for the makeup brush tip Kirstysdad ... I shall use one of my own brushes as I don't have a 'wife'

Good to hear good things about the stuff ... 'cause I ordered it yesterday. The lurcher's ears are slighly off smelling, and she's been shaking her head. It seems to come and go. I didn't want to go to the vet and come home with an arm load of antibiotics and drops etc etc when I don't really think that's what she needs. My experience with dogs' ears (when working at a vet) was the more you mess with them the worse they get and vets sometimes see £ signs when they hear ears

Will let you know how I get on

In my experience vets see £ signs everywhere they look lol
