deerhound/greyhound/whippet X greyhound/whippet

Recommended Posts

hi there

i have a whippet x greyhound/deerhound bitch, i will be very honest about this type from what i've experienced. she was my first lurcher to own though not to work, due to the deerhound in her it took a bit longer for to sort co ordination (sorry not sure on spelling at this hour ! but once there she's been flying since, her feet aren't anything to look at but she's never hurt them, she has good prey drive and is very keen, soft mouthed and trains well though is starting to get a bit cheeky as she gets older and wizer, due to the deerhound she goes long coated during winter yet gets the whippet coat come summer, she has a sound temperment with children and dogs etc

she is very loyal which leads to seperation anxiety, this has also improved with age but two years ago she broke out of a secure dog crate, got out the window, climbed onto the conservatry and slid down the roof to gallop down the road to meet me at the bus stop with a waggy tail!!

i would personally recommend this type but think about what you want it to do, i think i'm very lucky with my bitch, she's one in a million but then we all say that about our dogs!!

hope this helps and all the best with the pup
