mole catcher 1
as long as your dog has plenty of bedding and is dried befor being kenneled i cant see a need for the heat lamp. Drafts are also a prob but sounds like you have a good set up there. Heat lamps are worth their weight in gold for the nursing bitch as well as helping to heal injured dogs
Simoman 110
Heat lamps are fine although my kennels have no heating. Dogs will cope aslong as they are not subjected to draughts. You mention putting the lamp on when the dogs are wet, I would always dry mine before kenneling them

fr0gman4 0
My dog kennel has been insulated and also has a heat lamp inside. It dosent cost much to have it on during the nights when its cold and when we have had any REALLY cold weather its stayed on all day to make sure the dog is kept warm enough. Not trying to say that everyone should do it but I just think the dog gives her all for me when we are out so why not do the same for her when its fooking cold outside. Guest baldie
My kennels insulated, and has a heat lamp. The dogs are dried when wet, and the lamp goes on.Its also on on cold days, and they come in to the house to sleep.I,ve never had rheumatism problems, and my dogs all have remained very sprightly, into old age. There,s nothing big or clever, about a shivering dog.
