Guest DogFaceKillah
i feed mine up, take them out with my girlfreind, and show them in every show there is, then rest them all winter for doing so well in the shows, i heard DOGGINLAD takes his ice skating, and re-inacts scences from one in the pink one in the stink, his favourite movie! Hannah4181 260
My dalmationxbeardy although not a working lurcher, is a handy dog in the winter and will have a go on the lamp, day time flushing and catching bunnies, also handy at taking pheasants mid air!! The summer months is when she's at her busiest though competing in a variety of dog sports, dock dogs is her main event though and the one she does the best at. Dal x beddy?? Lordy Hannah you're one brave girl - what a bonkers cross She is a crackin' looking dog Dock dogs is cool, I didn't know they did that here, think I heard about that back home tho. How does one get into that sort of thing? Bonkers is one word! I adore this dog, she's 5 now and is just a pleasure to own, she's as close to human as a dog can get, its like she just seems to know what you want from her, show her once and give a command and thats it, she'll do it everytime you ask her! The athletic ability, endurance and drive she has are unmatched in any other dog i've owned or met, hence the need for all the crazy sports, she has to be kept busy. I love the fact she will have a go at anything though, in a working sense she does well on rabbits and will retrieve anything from water, or thick cover. Flushes game like a pro and will always run home with a rabbit caught on a walk, before dropping it at the gate and coming back to enjoy the walk! Again to engage her brain i've taught her loads of stupid tricks, she'll die when you point your fingers at her and say "bang", dance, bow, wave, army crawl, spin on the spot and loves to howl along to music as i sing and she rides shotgun! The dock dogs thing is huge in America and Canada, relatively new over here, i literally saw it at a game fair about 4 years ago and gave her ago, on her first jump she smashed the UK record and is currently seeded 3rd in Europe! :clapper: She's competed in loads, agility, weightpull, fly ball, high wall, long jump, scurries, lure racing and Iron Dog! She has also done a fair bit of modeling for dog magazines, advertising shows and Dock Dogs, she's just a brilliantly fun dog. Not a cross that suits everyone, but i wouldn't be without her, i doubt i'll get a dog again that will get close to her, sometimes you just find a special one and she's mine! Quote Link to post

Guest little lurcher
mine tend to rest and get dragged round the shows and some game fairs, we have time away from home in the caravan and the dogs get to run around over new grounds , its a mental as well as physical break , they still get at least and hours hard running a day though , and 2 times a week run behind jeep Quote Link to post
