liftboy1 0
Hi all, I`m am aquiring a gsp pup soon to train, and plan on getting a gun to shoot over him. I have my own land with plenty to shoot. I am a bit baffled by what gun to get, I have shot shotguns with work colleagues, and used to shoot air rifles. Just wondering as to the winchester sx3? My friend says its a good all-round gun but is it any good as a first gun? Quote Link to post

Geoff.C 0
It doesn't matter what shotgun you buy. Anything will do to get you going, most folks start to upgrade as they gain experience. Hope you are reading up on training the pup. You do not loose off a 12 bore over his head, a 6mm blank firer in the next field is how to start. Don't mean to lecture, but I have seen too many potentially good dogs ruined by inexperienced owners. Some of the posts on here make me cringe. Good luck. Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
Agree with the above, any shottie will start you off, but be careful not to introduce the dog to the shot too quickly or close to it, or you'll end up with a gunshy dog... Good luck and i hope you have a good time out there.. Snap. Quote Link to post

It's just sometimes a matter of thinking who you know. For instance, do you know a teacher or doctor? You may have a boss who can do the honours, someone in charge of a local company is fine for the police. Quote Link to post
liftboy1 0
My boss is like a well known bloke, I`m sure he is quite important in the surrounding areas. How long does it take for it all to go through. Im 22 years old, have my own house and permission if that would help. Quote Link to post

Wildfowler 1
I have a SX3 in 3.5" good fowling gun. For a starter though a SBS or an O/U may be better. Quote Link to post
