whin 463 Posted April 25, 2010 Report Share Posted April 25, 2010 used to go to gran canaria and in the north of the ilsand ,they hunted rabbits with lurcher type of dogs simliar to them ,and they have frrets to met a hunter he hasa restraunt at peuto rico ,they love there hunting rabbs etc but realy the dogs job is to chase it to ground catch it or guys shoot it Quote Link to post

Who is the guy you met. I know most of them there?? Lads i have seen them work. I have seen them work the sands, rock, rough, and bush..They hunt them in the pack. They bark and yap like f**k. Not just when running but when chilling out as well. They fight each other in the pens and cages, and if they do get a rabbit they smash the feck out of it! Fast yes, can run in extreme heat, but always seem to have skin problems.... And ferrets in gran canaria will sell for about 70quid! Quote Link to post
whin 463 Posted April 25, 2010 Report Share Posted April 25, 2010 the guy that i new for several years as we used to go every may to fish, had a restraunt in the upper level of peurto rico mall restraunt ,names slipped me but his wife is swedish and have a few litle pet dogs , he used to tell me about the cactus they used to chisel out or some sort of tree and made ferret carryin boxes with them ,i done an article on it but never published it, but over 8 yeears ago had great days there mate sitting at porto mogan fishing early morning for bream , and up in the hills carp fishing got burnt but had good times will go back some time ,when i first went there i 60 euro to pound good deal , guy had hunted all his life i showedhim some pics of dogs here and rabbits etc ,i was going to get him over but went else were on hols to new mechico Quote Link to post

They are VERY quick sprinters, but from memory, only average the same as an Afghan over a longer distance, but are much quicker over a shorter distance. Quote Link to post
