flint there lamping and there lamping me old bud i can lamp every nite but weather doenst always suit me and the dogs need arest as its big runs etc so they burn out if you run the ass out of them and run feild after feild mate

im 62 been lamping 37 year still at it,average 5 nights a week what ever the weather.

 

good man i try to do everynight what ever the weather,only lame dogs keep me in,but even then there are mates dogs i can get out with

i agree, similar to what i wrote in my post mate. its like terriers ,a terrier might put in 2 seasons and not put a foot wrong then all of a sudden just throw the towel in. i need to know that they ll do the work consistently even when the odds are against them and they have to dig deep to find the stamina and bottle required for regular work on the lamp.

at 63 it doesnt matter so much what the dog catches beacause if youve not had your fill by that time well to late realy, som enites i walk the dark and catch game ,but at the moment to much carrying young so best left as they are or pick them out at grey dark if you are lucky
