Leeview 791
2 good full season is enough for a good dog ,a bitch well until you need a replacement i try and breed if they are doing the biz once when 4 see what the pups are like if good then 6 , but i have saw first season dogs doing al thats needed to be good for me ,but not many like thaT ,i like a dog to catch in the lamp put a good show in the daylite, work an eye 2 hundred yards ,away catch out the beam ,clean kill dog etci like a dog that knows the biz ,with being out all the time and you dont need to say much to him he knows what the game is full stop , 2 good full seasons is enough? at 2 seasons the dogs still full of enthusiasm and learning and wont of peaked ,it might jack come its 3rd season by waiting until the dogs 6-7yrs old you'll of seen the best of it and will have a much better idea of whether its suitable to be bred fromIMHO Y.I.S Leeview Quote Link to post

Dan Edwards 1,134
If a dog is alive after its second season around here, he or she can be bred from as far as I'm concerned. Quote Link to post

Guest stewie
4 to 5 seasons but some people think its 1 yep 5 years, and if it still sound +fit and the still plenty of drive ,thats what i would breed from.? do you think you got a good chance of ruining a dog by takeing it out 5 or 6 nights a week in its first season and running the guts out of it yes but only a muppet would do that but let me guess your sas standard malumutes are well above this regime?? sputtheload 5
i would say 4/5 seasons 3/4 days or nights a week with plenty of game put in front of them . Yes i agree- need at least 4 seasons of hard graft to prove its consistant. have to agree 4-5 seasons of hard graft. think consistancy is a must. Quote Link to post
