SNAP SHOT 194
george your not gonna take rabbits at 150 yards with a .22lr, but you will with a hmr, but the price difference in ammo is the down side.... also whats left of the bunny...!!! Cz get my vote for outta the box accuracy, and build wise they are excellent.... look at the 452 models.... Ifs its your first gun i'd recommend the .22lr to cut your teeth on..... Snap. langouroux 14
this topic has been done to death mate! but if you want to shoot at that range then .17HMR is your best bet. CZ 452 with a trigger kit you can't go wrong. i don;t like the .17HMR personally, expensive to run, loud, technically you should clean the barrel regularly. I have a CZ 452 .22LR wiht a £10 trigger kit in it, a £90 scope and i love it. cheap as chips to run and very cheap second hand, perfect work horse for bunny bashing / small quarry. a hard gun to beat for value for money. where in cornwall are you? If I had written a reply it would read word for word the same as Snaps post except mine would have spelling mistakes. Enjoy you 22lr and do the job well at 50 to 70 yards first. Regards Sage. ace32 4
cz 452 .22lr,win subs, sak mod or similar, silent deadly, and as acurate as any gun on the market,if you do your bit,and you dont need any varmint barreled one,s neither, the are just extra weight,so get the 22 first, and learn to shoot, especially if your going to be useing the lamp,as a 150 yd rabbit in the dark is a long way, especially if your head shooting them, which every one on the forum,s seem to do, and be sure of your back stop at all times,ok, 17 hmr a lot more noise, and a dam site more to run, bullet price wise,oh and you want sub sonic rounds for the .22,as high velocity dont work as well,so i ve read,as i aint tried them, defeats the object,ok,ian Quote Link to post
