dicehorn 38
I expect there are a couple of guys out there that may be interested to know how I make a free standing target holder for air or full bore. Made this one this morning and if I had not taken photos, it would have taken me about 1/2 hour to make Materials required. 3.25 metres of 50mm x 25 mm (2 by 1) timber 16 x 70 mm (3") screws 2 small hinges with screws http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq101/wyndog/TargetHolder001.jpg Cut timber 2 x 61 cms 2 x 48 cms 4 x 23 cms On the 61cms lengths mark front and edge at 5 cms , 26 cms and 48cms. With a 5mm drill bit, drill two holes on the wood edge between the 5 cms and then on either side of the other measurement markings. On 48 cms length trim one end to form 'V' and mark front up from 'V' at 14 cms http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq101/wyndog/TargetHolder003.jpg Now screw the 4 x 23cms lengths to one side of the long and shorter lengths using the markings as middle - see photo http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq101/wyndog/TargetHolder004.jpg Now join the other two lengths in place http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq101/wyndog/TargetHolder005.jpg Lay the 48 cms lengths on top of the longer 61 cms lengths level with the top of 26 cms measurement and then screw in the two hinges http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq101/wyndog/TargetHolder006.jpg This is now complete and is designed to take one or two A4 size targets - you can of course alter dimensions to suit your target paper. Using screws is helpful in that if you shoot up the wood the various pieces are easily replaced. Finally - MAKE SURE you have a good bullet stop. http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq101/wyndog/TargetHolder007.jpg Edited April 24, 2010 by dicehorn Quote Link to post
