BLACKBOB 9
Found this trap in Whitland, West Wales, nearly cost me my JRT as it was set in a dry brook. on my permission. ( is it illegal ? ) My JRT was on a scent on the brook bed, as i followed him i spotted this trap about 10ft in front of him, he was moving quite quickly and i thought as hes not one to stop when hes on to something. I didnt even know if this trap was set as one i found a few months earlier had gone off and been left for some time, albeit it was a much smaller version than this one. Anyway a quick scream from me and he turned back just enough time for me to push my thumb stick into the trap. It snapped the end of my stick like a twigglet. This could have done some serious damage to my dog or even worse, and to cap it off the trap was set within 100yrds of where kids play. If anyone knows who might be responcible for setting these traps down this area, can they please pm me, as me and the farmer would like to return it to the owner. p.s. trap now made safe cheers bob Edited November 1, 2006 by BLACKBOB Quote Link to post

Guest MOLLY
One of my worst fears. The terriers quite often go into the heavy cover chasing various animals, when one doesnt come back as normal i start fearing, snares, traps etc. MOLL. Quote Link to post

BLACKBOB 9
Yes Millet thats exactly how i feel It dosnt hit home until you think of the consequences, its so powerfull i absolutly shite myself setting it for the video. I will find whos setting them because on two trips to this area ive removed two of these and two snares within 100yrds. I now what the quarry is as this brook leads to a lake and i know where the holt is. Sooner or later someone will talk or il bump into them. The trap has had work done to it very recently and has new springs as they wernt even rusty, even the connections to the peg were new. It had been well hammered in to the ground as it took all my strength to pull it out, someone will be pissed off its missing. Cheers bob Quote Link to post
