I cant make my mind up

I currently own a 2.8TD LWB pajero, and although i do enjoy driving it there are 2 things i hate about it. 1. 20mpg, 23 on a good run (ive changed filters cleaned injectors ect to no avail.) 2. its an automatic therefore rearly anoying in traffic when you cant change it up a gear and just a bit too big for me (7 seats)

 

now i was looking at a few differnt cars but i want it to do :

 

30/35+ mpg normal driving,

cruise control would be nice but not vital and a few other luxuries,

needs to actualy be able to offroad and tow (farm tracks and dips not major off-roading)

diesel

be under £10,000 the lower the better of course.

not be a landrover.

 

 

now ive been looking at the Grand Vitara, Jeep Cherokee, toyota rav4, nissan xtrail.

 

any suggestions on others and opinions on the ones listed????
