rizla1 122
i used to have a 22 and 177 cal, very good guns and if you put a good spring in it will go well over the 12 fp

You wouldnt want to do time for a firearms offence, so why take the risk???? Anyone changing their mainsprings etc should chrony their rifles afterwards to check, and make the required adjustments to keep within the law. Otherwise get it done at a reputable gun shop! sleepy_saluki 5
iv been caught with about 3 air rifels over the limit spring guns and pre-charged and never been to jail yet and by fitting a decent spring won't just stick it over the limit either alot more to it than that i had hw80k knocking out 22ft lbs

I had my rapid turned up years ago and very nearly got caught, turned it back down the minute the nice policeman left my house and ive never tampered with it since. And changing your mainspring actually can put your rifle over the limit! My tx200 ended up over the legal limit when I fitted a RWS spring/service kit to it. Obviously if you were wanting to get real high power from any springer you need to start looking into different pistons etc. Cheers Kyle

No mate, if its over the 12ft.lb limit, its classed as a firearm and you would need a FAC, doesnt matter whether your on private land or whatever. Its definitely worth taking it to your local gun shop to be checked. Atb Kyle
