liftboy1 0
Hi, everyone. I need some help, I have just aquired a pointer pup that is in the process of training. I want to get a air rifle to shot with, I have decided against a shotgun due to the licncing and money side. I would like a air-rifle for shooting rabbits close range and long, and stuff like duck, phesant and so-on. Any ideas? Something not to expensive. Quote Link to post

stealthy1 3,964
Sounds like you need a good springer, what do you have to spend? Quote Link to post
liftboy1 0
Nothing over sort of £400 the lot. I used to have a air-arms s400, but i sold it as i needed the cash. Is the gamo shotgun type anygood? Because I have started working with a pointer I want a gun that i can shoot bolting rabbits, pheasants etc, without having to by a shotgun. Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
sorry mate but shooting anything moving with a air rifle is a BIG no-no. even with gamos skeet airgun its not feesable as headshots only for any quarry. if i was you i would get your old gun back (air arms s400) as these are deadly accurate fantastic guns. or if you go down the springer route (no dive tank or pump recquired, but harder to ahcieve accuracy with) then a hw97k or hw77k is well within your price range. you simple cannot bolt rabbits to an airgun. airgunning i about stalking or ambushing quarry witch is staying still or feeding. if you try to shoot stuff on the move (even with gamos shotgun) you'll just end up with a lot of wounded rabbits runnign back to the waren to die slowly.
