Lennard 10
Don't know how it is bred poacher...the mom is a confiscated spanish bitch that proved to be pregnant when imported to here...black and white one is mainly podenco (ibizan hound)...just type podenco into google or check older posts by me for native pics and you will see a lot of them ears L. Mitch 0
Nice looking hound mate, How does he go on rabbits Quote Link to post
Lennard 10
He's pretty keen but hasn't seen any work yet apart from accidental chasing rabbits. I'm concentrating on obedience still. His time will come. Quote Link to post
Lennard 10
Yeah black birch is spanish pharao hound version. Sweet but not very effective if you want a lot of rabbits....uses nose and gives loud. I've seen them work in Spain and they run in packs like beagles on terrain that is really rocky and overgrown. They alert the hunter and the pack with occasional howly barks. You could catch a lot more with a whippet and a lamp but the podencos are way less damage prone and have stamina beyond whippets or greys in the heath. check this out http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/po...a/pages/cat.htm Quote Link to post

Meerihunter 7
Looking great Lennard, I like to see good large feet on a running dog. I also like your podengo and appreciate the toughness of the type. The days of me running super fast accident, prone fine footed hounds, being long gone! I look for durabilty, the slower dog will always catch more than the fastest dog that is left lame at home, not that galgos are slow but they do tend have the feet to match their speed over rough ground. Regards Mark PS Have heard from Vladimir recently? Quote Link to post
