niall_b73 41
well we set out again last saturday to try a new lough on the border that we had not fished before. we got there about 9 and set out on the boat & started spinning. this is a big lough so had done a full lap of it and nothing. on the second trip around the lake we concentrated more on the shallow bays and not long after that bang (finally after 3 full days of no fish) i had a fish. it was only a small jack pike but a pike none the less. further up another bay i hit into another pike this one turned out to be just over 6lb & the biggest of the day. later we were trolling and i was making a cup of tea, i turned round and at that i seen my rod & reel fall out of my boat rod rest and splash into the water. my heart was racing...... i started roaring & shouting at my mate to reverse the boat but thankfully the rod actually floated (thank god because at this stage i was close to tears). so got the rod in and there was another wee jack pike on the end of it. finally on the last run home my mate hit into another jack & that was that, although it was only 2 oclock i called it a day, i was freezing cold, had been swimming in mullaghmore the day before for a few hours. i went out today for a cast off the rocks at mullaghmore for about half an hour while the missus went for a walk and i caught a small coaley cant wait for the mackerel niall_b73 Quote Link to post
