According to CNN, Finnish airforce jets showed some damage after short training flights. Yet some commercial airlines are saying it's safe to fly.

Would you board a plane and take the flight if you knew it was to pass through the Volcanic Ash cloud?

I have to say that I would not.

No f*****g chance!

As a very famous camp comedian once said, " Not on your Nelly!" & "nay, nay & thrice nay!" laugh.giflaugh.gif

I'm a crap passenger at the best of times, even in a car. I fecking hate flying with a passion as it is. It sounds mad, but I think I'd be OK if I was flying the plane!:laugh:

I also don't like the way the airlines take risks in the name of money. A few years back my mother's flight back from one of the Greek islands was delayed leaving the UK. They put the flight back about 3 times, and when the plane actually did start on it's way to pick them up, one of the engines caught fire as it was coming in to land, and they had to send a new plane over for them! :o There was obviously something amiss with the plane in the first place for it to be delayed.

I told a work colleague what had happened to her, and he said he'd experienced the same sort of thing. His flight had been delayed due to 'technical' problems, and when he got off the plane the other side, he heard one of the flight crew say about it: "We're not sure what it was, it cleared itself on the way over!" :icon_eek:

Hardly like having a bit of shit in the carb of a battered old FS1e is it? There's no fecking hard shoulder at 35,000 ft!

In a word....NO! i've seen aircrash investigation where a plane flew into a volcanic ash cloud and it shut down all 4 engines! They restarted but only after it dropped out of the ash cloud :icon_eek:

I saw that too.

Have you seen the headlines demanding that Brown "does something about it"? Er, like what? Fly up there on angel wings with a big brush and dustpan and sweep up the volcanic dust? There are times when I despair.

Still, I love it.

1.) World banking system f**cks up Icelandic economy

2.) Icelandic volcano f**cks up world economy.

What goes around comes around!

He could use some of the plentiful hot air he spouts to divert the dust cloud. If he is struggling Cameron could show some cross party support and give Gordon a helping hand. We could send it over America to get them back for causing a global financial crisis and forcing our banks at gunpoint to buy MBS and CDO.
