Hi guys. I don't use airguns as I generally do my bits and pieces with rifle/shotgun. However in one off those situations chatting to someone I ended up partexing some machinery with in the exchange a HW100 air-rifle with nikon monarch scope and all the bits case, pellets targets and decoys, ideal for my boys, however he also gave me a footpump with a none return valve on, its now out of air and I'm effed if I can make any impact.

Any ideas gratefully recieved as I'm out off puff. How do I get air in and were do I source the right pumps, and/or bottles and valves.

Hi Mac.

Very nice rifle you there HW100.

It would be a sin to use anything that isnt putting clean dust free, and dry air into it.

Would be worth spending £150 to get a divers bottle and the adaptors to suit it.

If there is a Rifle dealer near you it should not be a problem to get hold of.

There again, if you have no dive store near you, it wont be much use anyway.

So look at a stirrup pump, Hill's is good make, Brittish made too.

Will be hard work, but worth the effort to keep the internals clean and dry.

If you top up after each trip, it may not be such a chore.

Thanks Bill, I was given a RWS stirrup with it but theres no none return so I'mm putting in 100% and its leaking back 30% and the more pressure in the more it leaks. Is there a none return valve or adapter I can get from anywere too make my life easier. I'm not far from Sportsman at Litts.

Hi Mac.

The best thing to do, if your close to sportsman, is take the rifle and pump into them to have a look at mate.

They could then check over the Rifle and pump for you, if repairs or service needed they will do it for you.

Especially if the Boy's are going to use it.

Ask them to Chrono the rifle too, just in case its been played with.

Thanks for the replies gents, I know the prevous owner personally and he'd just serviced it at the main dealer/importer and owned it from new so I have no fears there. Ok I know what I have to do. I'll have it pumped up and maintain it with a few pumps. Maybe go down the divers bottle route. ATB and thanks for the link and the help.

Not a problem Bill, I should have mentioned it before. He bought it on impulse and never really used it. Wanted something I had and offered a deal.

I think its a simple case of getting used to one and what it requires. I'm surprised that a none return valve does not seem to be readily availible almost like a reversed regulater but I'll have a look into it. Its quite handy. I had a few shots at 40ft and it flew through the OSB(like chipboard) backing sheet. If I'd known I would have pumped it up then, you live and learn. Cheers.
