Questions about applying for FAC.

Recommended Posts

Ok, I've now decided to put in for an FAC for a .22lr. I've been shooting this 2500 acre estate for 3 years now(shotgun/air rifle), and I have questions regarding the FAC application process:

1. Is a retired teacher and a call centre team manager ok to act as refs?

2. Do they need to send the forms of themselves?

3. The land is cleared for centerfire use, will I need a police check on the land for a rimmy?

4. The land is in another county, will that prove a problem when applying?

5. How many rounds of ammo should I apply for?

6. What do I write on my application form where it says purpose of rifle?

Cheers lads.....

Some time depend where you are. I change adress sometime & take a few week to process. always apply with more than you need (is addictive, rifle will follow you home  )cals 17/22 /223/ 243 basic need.

land maybe pass for larger rifle also, many is, if not , police will clear before you licence approve.

for refrence , a company boss , teacher, or any person who you know /work with, or have degree education.

For purpose vermin/fox/ground game.

ammunition hold 1000 r/f & 300 each c/f buy 20% more.Do not forget silencer /moderator

good luck

Do I definitely need a letter of premission? I've been shooting the land for 3 years now and I know the guy really well. He's one of those old fashion types, by that I mean once they've said yes then that's the end of it. Not for writting out letetrs and all that stuff.

Thanks....

Yes. Print out the letter giving you permission to shoot over his property, get him to sign it. No land to shoot over = no FAC and you must have written proof.

I have premission to shoot there, I just don't want to ask him to write out a letter. So I can write one and get him to sign it?

Is this fundemental then?

That's what I said yer daft 'a'porth! Yes it is. You must have written permission to shoot over a piece of land. I suppose if you owned a Zillion acres in your own name it might be different . . .

Thanks Ric! I take it there no point asking for an open ticket?

you can always ask for a open ticket they can only say yes or no . all the best in getting your FAC.

Cheers mate, Is it worth it for my first application though?

like i said they can only say yes or no you have not lost anything by asking just try see what they say.

As said, ask! If you don't ask you don't get(as the gamekeeper said to the Duchess.) Again though, if you can show evidence of permission to shoot over different areas you will have more chance of getting an open ticket. TBH, don't put money on it for a first ticket.
