Think theres still some good one out there but getting less though before the blacks everyone had borders , border lakeys & russells my dad had some good borders in the 70's 's

theres some good lines of working Borders out there and more Terriermen are working them a lot of pups going to working home for fox work

i bring mine as any other terrier, they let you know when their ready, bit of ratting first, they dont see rabbits until they,ve seen a fox or two just two keep them right, as for being a bit hard, i think its keeness till they find their way and have had a smack, they can mature late, some come quick, my dog sarted at 13mths, and was full on and still is, my bitch is steady till you break through,then its look out.

Good do! It can only be good for the Border as a whole. Getting dogs out to lads who dig to them is the only way to help working breeds. Timbo.

ive got a border at around 5month old, he's not a bad little dog to say he's only a pup and was rescued from a bad home, he runs his legs off through the bushes, and chased his first rat last week, i reckon he'll make a good dog
