DUCKWING 302
WELL MATE , LOOKS LIKE A SOFT SHELLED EGG TO ME ? ........... SOMETIMES HAPPENS ..... THE SHELL DOESNT FORM CORRECTLY A GOOD TIP IF ANY BREEDER INTENDS TO HATCH OFF EGGS ........ GO TO THE CHEMIST AND ASK FOR LIQUID CALCIUM SUPPLEMENT THE EGGS WILL BE LIKE MOTHER OF PEARL AND BOTH THE BROODSTOCK AND CHICKS WILL BE FAR BETTER FOR IT ..... Lizard 0
Also could be that the hen was somehow stressed when laying. We also get one like this from time to time...

THOUGH IT SHOULD BE AS STANDARD THAT FOWL HAVE ACCESS TO GRIT OFTEN IN FOWL / BIRDS ....... YOU CAN GET INDIVIDUALS THAT LAY FASTER THAN THERE BODY CAN REPLENTISH , AT TIMES BIRDS WILL GO OFF THIER LEGS ETC ... THE BEST WAY TO SORT THIS PROBLEM IS AS IVE STATED ....... USE LIQUID CALCIUM THE BEST IVE FOUND IS THE TREATMENT FOR............. OSTEOARTHRITIS ...... I NORMALLY GIVE 5 mls PER GALLON ........ YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN BOTH THE EGGS AND CHICKS ....... NOW THEN ...... THATS ENOUGH OF ME GIVING AWAY TRADE SECRETS FOR THE MOMENT !! ALL THE BEST DUCKWING

Cheers WELL MATE , THAT WOULD DEPEND ON HOW THE PHEEZIES ARE BEING KEPT ....... AND THE TYPE OF FLOOR COVER IN THE PEN ... IF THEY ARE IN A LARGE PENNED AREA AND NOT OVERCROWDED ... THEY SHOULDNT NEED EXTRA CALCIUM AS THEY WILL BE PICKING UP LOADS OF INSECTS ETC ,........ IF THERES A LOT IN THE PENS , PERSONALLY I WOULD ADD A GOOD QUALITY MEAT AND BONE MEAL OR EVEN BETTER FISH MEAL TO SOME PELLETS WHICH ARE COATED WITH A LIGHT COVERING OF GROUND NUT OIL .... LEAVE OVERNIGHT TO DRY ON AND FEED TWICE A WEEK ......... ADD LIQUID CALCIUM TO THE DRINKERS TWICE A WEEK ............... WHILE THE HENS ARE LAYING .................
