Hi, mate.

I'm going back a very long time but my old 80 (.22) shot best with RWS Superdomes and (wait for the boo's..) Superpoints. It also shot very well with Ely Wasps but the quality of those has gone to pot since I used them back in the 80's and early 90's. Years, not guns!

There's a lot of newer stuff come onto the market since then though and has been said many times before, not all guns even of the same type always shoot best with the same pellets. Try as many as you can and in general a good dome head's the best all rounder.

Cheers.

5 brands that I would seriously consider to test and look at mate in priority order are as follows:

JSB’s Exacts

FX

Air Arms Fields

Webley Accupells

RWS Super domes

They are all very good pellets, but as has already been said each barrel is different and likes a different pellet.

Here is a cut out bit from a HW80 rifle review that may help you out

To the range

Firing the HW80, the mechanism was crisp and slick with little spring resonance. It therefore came as no surprise that once the favourite pellet had surfaced, the accuracy would flow. Over 30yards – the average range over which this sort of hunter class will see action, I settled down for a testing session - first with Dynamit Nobel Superdomes, then JSB’s.

The ‘Domes just felt a little loose in the barrel - sending the odd flyer here and there, but the JSB’s located into the rifling perfectly, and the cloverleaf’s soon formed. Individual models may vary, but this one just loved them - and with 5 shot groups of just 5/16inch regularly forming, the bunnies had better watch out!

At 45yds the groups were 3/4inch, which is highly creditable.

Over the chrono both pellet brands gave similar consistency over ten shot strings: ‘Domes - 19fps, and JSB’s - 18fps, quite acceptable, but with a fine spray of oil showing on my monitor, I would expect the consistency to improve after a run-in period.
