charti ive had deerhoundy types , collie types still got them ,never had a terrier type, as in bred one or bought one as a pup,to me there should never be one type but they should be functional and do the work required as there no yard stick if they are not functional working dogs

I bought one in ; she is Beddy/Grey x Deer/Grey-Whippet/Grey, possibly the best allrounder I've had;

I believe a lurcher's a lurcher regardless of whether it works or lives as a pet. It's a type of dog, a varied type but a type nonetheless.

I have a couple of decent dogs, have a few good pals and a good life.... much like yourself, some simply want to cause trouble, thats what they are up to, proper guys just get out and do it !! I really can't see the sense in what you're saying whin. So by that logic if I had the best lurcher in the world (one of yours, maybe?) and it went lame it would magically be transformed into a mongrel rather than a lurcher?

charti the hunting season over for me just an odd nite get a few rabbs, time for a bit fishing etc ,if you have a good dog a man should be able to say you have full stop ,and if its a potlicker well you take it on the chin or give it to a less demanding home ,but honestly what do yousae all think alurcher is charto started the thread , a cross odf any greyhound y type , or a purpose bred hunting dog poaching cur ,

My dogs aren't potlickers, as I said, even people who hate me as a person wouldn't slag my dogs !

I'm saying that regardless of what you use a lurcher for it's still a lurcher whin. By your logic you're effectively saying that a border collie that doesn't herd sheep isn't a border collie for example. Doesn't make sense to me anyway. Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.
