AT THE MOMENT I AM RE-LOADING 50G SPEER USING RELOADER 7 BUT WOULD LIKE TO TRY RE-LOADING 40G BLITZKING.I WOULD LIKE SOME ADVICE REGARDING POWDER, AND THE OVERALL LENGTH OF THE COMPLETED BULLET, COMPARED TO MY PRESENT SET UP .WOULD I HAVE TO RE-SET DIES TO COMPENSATE FOR SMALLER 40 G HEAD AND IF SO WHAT SHOULD BE THE MIN OAL .TKANKS?

You can't go wrong with the book COL for a start point. From memory I think the 40grn Sierra Blitzking for RL7 is 2.125" but I will have to confirm this when I get home. What dies are you using?

 

edit: Yep 2.125" COAL for 40 grn BK

Whatever process you went through to set up your dies do the same to set up for the new bullets. It's not a case of one size fits all I'm afraid.

No worries mate. I've been testing some 50grn V-Max over Viht N130, very accurate and surprisingly quieter than the SBK load.

22 grns of R7 under a 40grn Blitzking is awesome in my 222, i use the shortest oal possible as this is the length that fits in my mag

Exactly what I use thanks to Jonty's advice. I might make a move to the V-Max though, they have been very impressive during testing.

i go with that. ive seen how accurate jontys 222 is with those loads

I found 20 grains to be the most accurate in my 20" T3
