iceman001979 1,316 Posted April 15, 2010 Report Share Posted April 15, 2010 Just got my self a 4 month old springer and never had a bushing dog before but need one was on the look out for a good working bushing dog for about year now and could not get my hands on one.Anyway was offered the pup on the cheap and jumped at it(£40) just wondering if and one as any tips on how get the wee dog working will be bringing ferreting and out with the luchers.So any tips br help full thanks iceman Quote Link to post

stroller 341 Posted April 15, 2010 Report Share Posted April 15, 2010 get the recall and stay commands in as fast as you can,an out of control springer can have all the game spooked right into the next county. get him to heel off lead and start on hand signals at an early age. the above book explains it if you can get him not to chase rabbits then all well and good but it probably wont matter if he is just for lurcher work same with the retrieve. springers are a lot of fun enjoy your dog Quote Link to post
