If someone was pulled and accused of poaching,and they wanted to take the motor,would they be able to take it if it belongs to someone else and was nothing to do with you!! But the policeman has the discretion to contact the owner of the vehicle and the owner can take it away. But legally, they can take it away weather you own it or not. I hope this helps. ATB Mike Cheers pal ! Looks like im gonna have to buy a shed to drive round in! My mate got pulled the other day on his way to permission and the cop lady said she could take his dog off him!! I.e, no insurance, disqualified driver, of the car is in such a poor state etc...... Same applies to drink drivers, if the driver has breached certain traffic laws (apart from the obvious) then the vehicle would also be seized. Quote Link to post
