11 days from Tick removal - Long Tail Tit

Recommended Posts

Wow, it has taken me 8 days to be able to get a picture of my buddy :D It's back on form, and doesn't sit still for 2 seconds. I got a bit worried as I didn't see the pair for 6 days, but this morning they were back :toast:

Here's a copy of the email sent by the BTO a couple of days ago:

Dear Toni

Thanks for your email and apologies for the delay in replying. We've had a

build of reports over the easter weekend which we are currently clearing.

Long tailed tit 9M3990 was ringed on 18/03/2007 as an adult at SX0049 near

St Austell in Cornwall. We can now process your report and will send you a

letter with all these details. Could you please first let us know the

following:

Ring Number - 9M3990

Kind of Bird - Long tailed Tit

Date Found -

Place Found -

Finding details -

Finders name and full postal address -

Many thanks for taking the time and trouble to report this. You will hear

from us once this recovery has been processed with the details on your bird

in approximately 6-8 weeks.

For more information on the Ringing Scheme, please see our leaflet:

http://www.bto.org/ringing/resources/displays/bird-ringing09.pdf

Yours sincerely,

Miranda Shephard

Recoveries Officer

I had also sent some of the pictures to them too... I guess its normally dead bird ring numbers they get notified of, hence it being called "recoveries" ... Not for my little Tit though :toast:

Glad to see it turned out ok in the end. That eye looks just fine. Hope you get to see some young LTT's later on.

I wish we had some around a bit more, if you just happen to be looking from the kitchen, you sometimes see 3 or 4 hit the feeders then gone again in a few seconds.
