i try one in 17hmr, was very poor quality,but only £220 new . It look like made by junior gun engineer. It shoot rubbish ,only shoot 2" group.i finsh off to good standard ,i hone, polish , crown,do trigger,it little better after. But very poor made.

YES leave them in the shop!! Trust me when I say that the build quality is very poor. The button rifling does the job down range but boy the quality is poor.

I mailed ordered one from Uttings, when one able to do such things and regretted it from day one. The trigger was so poor, a cap gun trigger was better. In fairness to savage, I called them and they sent me a new unit from the states in two days! Still, stay well clear.

Not by far the best my friend side step that one a good second hand Brono cz will leave it for dead.

Ok, another vote against....

 

When my lad was looking for his first .22lr he liked these so we went and played with some...

 

......he bought a CZ!

This is interesting, i just been to gun shop and handled new .22lr cz 452, savage mk2 and savage thumbhole stainless. the bolt action and trigger were MUCH better/smoother on the savages, as a leftie these two rifle makers appear to be my best options.

I use a savage m2 £250 modded and scoped from ian hodge new, hasnt missed a beat in 2yrs and 500 rounds, not good looking but a sturdy tool.

They may have revamped the rifle since the Mk2 I purchased, if you like them buy one.
