Savage .22 LR

Has any body got any experience of Savage .22lr? are they any good?

 

 

i try one in 17hmr, was very poor quality,but only £220 new . It look like made by junior gun engineer. It shoot rubbish ,only shoot 2" group.i finsh off to good standard ,i hone, polish , crown,do trigger,it little better after. But very poor made.

YES leave them in the shop!! Trust me when I say that the build quality is very poor. The button rifling does the job down range but boy the quality is poor.

I mailed ordered one from Uttings, when one able to do such things and regretted it from day one. The trigger was so poor, a cap gun trigger was better. In fairness to savage, I called them and they sent me a new unit from the states in two days! Still, stay well clear.

This is interesting, i just been to gun shop and handled new .22lr cz 452, savage mk2 and savage thumbhole stainless. the bolt action and trigger were MUCH better/smoother on the savages, as a leftie these two rifle makers appear to be my best options.

They may have revamped the rifle since the Mk2 I purchased, if you like them buy one.
