unfortunately we are a minority on here.there will be hundreds of entries from people that dont go on THL and there fore will not even enter their heads that a boycott is proposed,so our few dogs that are not going will probably not make one bit of difference

i dont know if youv been recently but the numbers have deterited the ten year there is a lot better local shows going about.

its not just the numbers whitedogman.the whole day is a cracking day out,and as SMB has stated last year was a great turn out....and a day off work!

Got my schedule today and couldn't believe my eyes. No dogs under three and a half with a docked tail wallbash.gif. The next thing it say's is to mark down any animal showing signs of work or as they put it (features or exaggerations which they consider would be detrimental to the soundness, health and well being of the dog).

I was supposed to judge the Lakeys and blacks but they can F' OFF, so you can scratch my name of the schedule, workers and docked tails should be the only way forward, stop pandering to the tw*ts.

As the person who invited you I can understand where you are coming from ?. I myself will attend on the day and resign as politics have nothing to do at this show ,this decision was made behind closed doors by top gys men(scabs) so please do what you think is right and let hope shit hits the fan ?.

Sorry you had to hear it this way mate, just got youre number of Arther, but if you don't make a stand then whats the next step ?. Who whants to be the judge on the day when it all goes tits upwards and instead of 70 terriers in each class theres 7 and all with un docked tails.

When i was asked to judge this show i was genuinely chuffed but to say you were the judge on the day it went from being the best show in the country to a side show at a car boot sale then what the fook.

Once again sorry it came out this way, I'll speek tomorrow.

Sorry to disagree with your statement last year was the biggest turnout for 10 years and I have the figures to prove this lol THE END IS NIGH

The show last year was dead compared to other years ,standard was poor ,better off going to welsh for a good show or edrd show

i can understand that there are principles and some have to stand up for them. and hats off to anyone that sticks up for what they believe in  but to take it out on anyone that doesnt dock is as bad as takeing it out on the docked terriers :boogie:as you say you have a right to dock. and you allso have a right not to dock  you would allso be biast against scottish bred dogs where it is illegal to dock :boxing: if you want to make a stand get to the shows that support your docked terriers and support working them hunt shows. and terrier/lurcher club shows.

therte is no law on showing docked terriers in scotland. (ironically) get a good show up and running just north of the border. and pic a date that clashes . as i hear over and over again on here. it shouldent matter what a worker looks like so lets not forget a couple of inches of tail wont affect working ability. allthough it may affect your chances in the ring :icon_redface:

forgive me if am wrong but was it not against the law to wear kilts under

british law and you scots fought for the right to wear it why when its only

a few more inches of cloth , or was it because its your right and your tradition

and rightly so , or was it vanity and made you look good :hmm: lets not forget

a few inches of tartan wont make you look any better :icon_redface:

Having read the welfare act far from it being illegal to show docked terriers

it is open to debate that it is wrong to show undocked terriers as working terriers

the act clearly states that working breeds should be docked to prevent damage in

later life, the act goes on to state that docked breeds can be shown if it is

to show there working ability , now here is the quandary how do you judge working ability

in terriers, size , good bite, coat , head , etc , and the age old terrier standard

can it be spanned by you average pair of hands , what judge in the land would say

working terrier shows contravene the animal welfare act 2006 tail docking :big_boss:

busterdog :notworthy::notworthy: Respect for making your stand :notworthy: if sadmadbad is going to resign at the show? Why dont you refuse to judge on the day of the show? Perhaps with the other judges doing likewise if they re that way inclined? IMHO that would put a mighty spanner in the works and who knows what publicity the stand could generate in the press? just an idea

like i said people should stand up for their rights. and the scots are still wearing kilts so they must have won that one. i'm english born and bred  and believe victimising non docked terriers is the same as victimising docking. ie it wrong :clapper:

docking or not docking is a matter of choice. my choice would be to dock simply becouse i like the traditional look of the docked terrier. but if i breed a litter they will be undocked. as it is illegal where i live. the answer to your problem is dont go to the show and instead support working orientated shows. not to play tit for tat.
