austin 0 Posted October 29, 2006 Report Share Posted October 29, 2006 i have just bought a job lot of tackle from a local auction but need some help with valuation for my insurance. as i have no idea on fresh water stuff the rods i need help with are the following... shakespeare victory x kevlar match. 1836 360. DAM chevron match 13ft 2370-390.. Daiwa harrier-x match. HR-X L110TQ. ALSO I HAVE ANOTHER THAT IS SIGNED A.W.PICKARD coventry which is a 9ft 4 "leger rod. ( cork handle, looks like yellow glass fiber push fit brass connection, yellow and black whipping , 2 pc.) looks old any help would be appreciated. thanks Quote Link to post
bill88 6 Posted October 29, 2006 Report Share Posted October 29, 2006 Had a victory x spliced tip stick rod,best float rod i ever owned.They were about £100.00,but we're talkin 15 years ago,the other two rods are about the same age if memory serves me,i think they were about the same kind of money,but no where near the same quality as the shakespeare.hth Quote Link to post

Guest Eamon.Mc Posted November 3, 2006 Report Share Posted November 3, 2006 Tackle that was expensive years ago does not hold it's value.With the advances in carbon fibre rods what you'd have paid £100 for 10 years ago you'd get the same quality of carbon fibre rod now for £30-£40. :mellow: Quote Link to post
