Mutimer 0
We have recently placed approx 25 large rat bait stations and 5 normal commercial boxes on a job, whilst filling the boxes for the first time we noticed two baby rabbits coming out of one of the boxes. These rabbits where about 4-5†in size. The boxes had been in place for past two weeks with only corn present. The entrance on the boxes is approx 2-2.5†square. Will the rabbits eat the poisoned corn? And is this a common problem. Just first time I have seen this. Just a little concerned as I did find a baby rabbit (appox 4" long)with a bloody nose but it did look as if it may have been attacked by a bird of prey. The box design and size of entrance will prevent any other animals getting and poison spilling out. Just not sure what I can do with such small rabbits if they are getting in and eating poison. In a few weeks they should be two big. Hopefully this is not a normal occurrence and is a one off sighting Darren Quote Link to post
ratattack 111
It's just another hole to a rabbit, i get it fairly regularly on some sites. They won't eat the bait but can get poisoned from licking the poison off their fur during cleaning. Nothing you can really do about it though. Quote Link to post
Mutimer 0
Hopefully it will be a short lived problem, just never seen it before. As you said not much you can do. If we make holes smaller then nothing will get in. Quote Link to post
Urban Fox Control London 8
I used to service perimeter bait around Stansted Airport and the rabbits were forever in the boxes. I always tapped them first before opening them to save me a heart attack from them jumping out on me !! Quote Link to post
