my mate had a deerhound/grey first cross for 11years died at the start of the season.was a good lamping bitch for rabbits but she was a great fox bitch we used 2 call her the cruncher wants she got hold it was allover in seconds.a very good dog for drawing fox allso.

Its about bloody time their makeing a come back especially in the make up of the bitza lurcher they have got a very lot to offer and i believe they would have been used more if they were available like they were 30 years ago.atvb dell

got some pics from 83 86 with deerhoudy lurchers ,yet to see one nowadays that can do what a good saluk cross can do , or a good colie grew can do,we all had them as the local feilds were all 60 to 100 acres in places , back then handy dogs ,and all had plenty hares ,the problem nowadays well were would you get a good deerhound that, can do what a good saluk cross can do , and then you have to get a greyhound test her then breed them keep the smaller ones , etc 26 27 ,i saw no future in the derhound localy by the early ninties, good saluks especaily the tor of dartmoor line they took over as hardy big dogs ,saw big deerhound dogs males they could knack a roe, but were overtaxed on winter hares and far to big for bolting rabbits,i would love to see one run with the dogs me and freinds keep be good if one could last the nite and be sound all winter ,we had a bitch derhoundy type but not realy much deerhound she could catch winter hares ,but never bred her and never saw a good male to breed with her ,i like the staghounds over by in the usa ,but i dont no about the modern deerhounds i see people putting up here in the uk ,until i se one do what the dogs we kep do then well the back burner ,

whats wrong with the truth sho8 , i dont keep dogs to like keep them to hunt ,now if i saw agood deerhound and run it with the dogs we keep i would shake the mans hand and say good dog whats the problem with that , explain youre self ,the days of the deerhound doing what they could do are long gone but hopefully a few good SCOTTISH DEERHOUND CROSS ENTHUASASTS CAN BRING THEM BACK TO THERE FORMER GLORY. IM SCOTTISH MATE AND THE SCOTTISH DERHOUND IS SCOTTISH , SO WHEN I SEE DOGS THTAS ARE POOR TO THE FORMER STAGS DERHOUND TYPES THAT WERE POPULAR AND SEE THEM PRANCED ROUND SHOWS MAKES ME THINK FECH THINGS AHAVE WENT BACK NOT FORWARD LIKE THE SALUKS BULLS SOME COLLIE TYPES , IM MAYBE WRONG MATE

there is a few lads round my area that havea couple but dont go on a pc and keep themselves to themselves so unless you look in every field on every night, your not going to mate.
