Yeah, he has a hell of a thick coat on him, does cause him to feel the heat on warm days when he's been running hard, but after a good drink of water he recovers quickly. But like I've said in the past, he will never be worked hard and most of that will be over the winter. Only time will tell how he copes though.

What height is he, he looks like a monster in some of those pics, has he matured,,

Cheers for the replies everyone, in answer to some of the questions...he is now standing at 29/30 inches tts, still not fully mature, though at a guess I'd say theres not much more growing upwards to be done, maybe another inch. He still has some of his puppy traits but is generally an obedient dog, 100% off the lead and with livestock, jumps well (5 bar gates are no obstacle) and listens to commands. He has proved on several occasions that he has a brain and recently has developed a liking for water and swimming!

He lives in the house with us, a cat and our other lurcher Gwen, can be left alone for long periods without having to return to a destroyed house and he's as gentle as can be with the cat as the photo proves!

Hannah, he's grown into his ears now!

He is absolutely stunning, if it wasnt for the colour he looks full Deerhound. Mine stopped growing at about 14 months he is just under 36 inches tts. He is clever but couldn't catch a cold. He heaves if you offer him raw meat. Wish he was more like yours.

Helen, Macsen's sire was a full deerhound. hav'nt started him working yet, will do that next season...he loves raw meat though, one of my neighbours is a butcher and often brings bags of goodies over for him, he has a VERY healthy appetite!
