many of you say they bree all your year round but its most noticable in spring so i assume they breed more in spring. as some said the chance of shooting both parents is remote but if you see one outside its nest (with chicks) after the farmer has asked you to shoot all birds on sight what are you going to do? be obidient to the farmer or turn a blind eye?

I'll certainly be leaving them alone fairly shortly when they are in Max breeding condition, Our main sporting quarry should have a right to a break expecially when they are breeding, I hate shooting Rabbits and finding a gut full of youngsters or a Milky doe.

I know at the moment there are virtually plague proportions of Pigeons and Rabbits in certain area's but I can remember when Starlings and Sparrows was in Palgue proportion and look whats happend to them!! somtimes its good to let them breed to preserve some sport for future years.....

intresting, you can sometimes tell if the rabbits male because they will be fighting or chasin g other males but you don't always see this.

Pests that are damging arable feilds will soon be taking a back seat, as the crops are nearly tall enough to be out of reach to damage, so I will be moving onto pasture to stop the rabbits eating the grass thats needed for cattle and sheep, and those rabbits that burrow under roadways and damage young trees will be shown no quarter, the show goes on, and the ferrets still need to be fed :D
