mooney1 120
just wondered what is your overall favourate,pre-charged or a good trusty springer? Quote Link to post
venomviper 129
hi ya mooney the pre-charge are a good gun as well as the springers alot of people go straight to a pre-charge even myself but i used springers all the time as a kid but found the pre-charge alot easier to use (no recoil) and you can rest them on anything without losing poa so both guns are as good as each other it all depends on what you are going to use it for shay Quote Link to post
mooney1 120
cheers mate Quote Link to post
RaiderBoy 19
Like most people i learned to shoot using a springer and got preety good at it too then i moved onto pcp about a year ago and never looked back, but a few weeks ago i broke out the old smk springer and i was supprised how hard i found it to shoot it accurately. at the moment my favourite is pcp though i wouldent mind a tx200 or a prosport in the near future. mooney1 120
yeah same here,I originally started shooting with a webley tracker side lever air rifle but later moved onto pcp, shooting a webley raider 10 that i got for christmas, although am having a few problems with my raider10 and i am considering going back to spring powered air rifles ,such as a tx200,or wiehrauch hw97k Quote Link to post
jenksi87 3
pcp all the way. its nice to get out with the old springer every now and then though. makes you realise how easy pre charged are Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Hi Mooney, My favourite rifle is a PCP i must admit, and that being my BSA R10 as it is so easy to use and make good kills with while allowing me to be shooting technique lazy. But as for self shooting pride you cant beat the feeling of making a good kill with a springer as you know you must have done everything correct from loading the pellet to picking up the shot quarry. As for springers my favourite is a HW97KT, ive owned the HW97K and that was mint. Si Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Cant make up my mind, thats why I have both 1 Quote Link to post
silentshot1 206
I really love my S410 for mooching with, it's a great gun that has always delivered. That said, I love my HW77 and d get a lot more satisfaction from shooting with it than the s410. If it didn't require so much movement and take me so long to reload, I doubt I would have ever gone PCP. Quote Link to post
jazmin 44
Always been springers must of had 18 diffrent ones from Hw 35 hw77 hw webley xocet trackers but now on my first pcp and starting to like it.At the end off the day you got to hold steady and know your ranges etc I still like both Quote Link to post
farmerkev09 105
pcp for me sorry springer lovers i just cant go back farmer Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
simply for the fact you can rest it on anything, and shoot from any position without the POI changing, PCP for me. Quote Link to post
mooney1 120
maybe so,but I think that when out with a good springer ,when you shoot something there is a certain satifaction ,more than when killing something with a pre-charged rifle, from the loading, the stalk and finally the shot spring powered rifles are also less expensive Quote Link to post
migmog 1
I prefer the rapid reload of a 10 or 14 shot pcp for vermin control so its PCP for me!! Weihrauch HW100 .177 & AA s410 .22 Quote Link to post
Alexisrouzee 6
if your a good shot with a springer then you will be a GREAT shot with a pcp.... i have both but when i go into the field i always you the pcp.... could be that im always worried about a 'off' shot wounding the quarry and have more confidence in the pcp?? not sure but to say the least there a alot of quality springers out there!! si did a test on his AA pro sport and was shooting a kill zone out a stupid ranges!! so it really depends on your shooting... lazy or full bore Quote Link to post
