i wouldnt say it is impossible but the weather must be absolutely spot on, and the dog, well it must be fit.

As for the fella in the CMW saying you would have to slip the dog 170 times to kill 100, that all depends on how the rabbits are running, are they squatting, lamp-shy?

I must say it would be easier with 2 or 3 dogs to reach the big ton

Its possible ,in areas where rabbits arent lamped to buggery, and you can get a lot iof squatters ,saving the dogs legs, but why anyone would want to beats me,does it make you a better dog man than the guy who goes out and maybe picks up 3or 4 in an area where they are thin on the ground,I was out ferreting the other day on a mates ground using purse and stop nets ,we took 39 clean rabbits and about 4 mxy ones ,carrying those 39 over a field of winter wheat was graft, especially for me now that Im knocking on,the rabbits were sold proir to being caught so that was why we took them ,but if you hit a place heavy and take those big numbers 50 plus, whatever ,how many will you take next time? Ive ground where I can shoot bunnies anytime ,but I dont I prefer to dog it for the sport..Its becoming a numbers game ,with silly prats doctoring photos and putting them on web sites[till they are caught out and shown up],that isnt my idea of field sports.

the fella who wrote the article is dave slaight, well those of you that read the minshaw thread will remember andy puting up some old pics of V. Minshaw who did it with one of his dogs.

also there was a fellow up in scotland that used to breed a small whippety strain of lurcher that was blessed with good staminer that also got up in to the very big numbers , some of the others on hear may know his name as i have forgot.

my own view is that its possible as some people have proved it but its obviuosly not a common thing to achive

my own best is 70 rabbits and 1 hare but that was with 2 dogs .

i also think that D. Slaight in his article aplies to much science to weather the dog could achives this feat. stating that it would have to run so many runns and missing so many. i bet if you asked the lads that did this i bet there dogs didn't miss as many as Dave thinks. TOMO :)
