flint08 could you explain to me one thing have these dogs been tested on there "main quarry" on all types of land,not just wooded areas with the odd field in between. also areas were there main quary has a good lay between it and the dog not just them finding on there own of the lead or being sent into groups of there chosen quarry. i dont dought these dogs just woundering atb

they are steady they know there job and there doing OK,iv seen worse, the differance between a good dog and a bad one is a very fine line

not to comment on the cross as iv never seen one work but i will say there is a big difference and not a fine line between a good and bad dog imo

you can get any dog to work the light,any dog to catch a rabbit,a dog that is taken out 5 nights a week is steady,dogs that go out once or twice a week would probably look much better on the first few runs,but are they, if some one had two dogs that he trained him self they might look very much a like to some one who is seeing them run for the first time,but maybe the owner knows that one is much better than the other

well some dogs cant catch a rabbit or some refuse them.sometimes no matter how many times ya have a dog out he never turns out to be a good un.what you saying about an onlooker watching your dogs run then that is spot on.only the owner really knows how good the dog is compared to his other dogs as even the gooduns have off nights..

but to have a really good dog and and bad dog then there is a huge difference.

im not dissing your cross as i believe the large and heavy lurchers can and do catch rabbits and wouldnt diss your cross as i wouldnt think there is much of a size and weight difference between yours and some bull crosses.

iv had a 33" deerx weighing 90lb catch double figures on the lamp.

i dont like to make judgements on other peoples dogs the only statement i made that there is a big difference between good and bad as the bad dont get kept or passed on in my kennels.

fence hopper you still havent answered flint08s question, why havent answered it yet are you ashamed of your dog or something? how many rabbits has your greyhound caught this season it must be alot if its caught more than most peoples dogs catch in 3 saeasons. to me it sounds above average, so whats it caught then.

i had some right idiots get intouch regarding the pups and thought the same myself about them (your mate was one i think) and needles to say they never got one. all the homes i did get for them are working homes and have the pups best interest at heart. i didn't have a problem finding them good homes so tell your mate not to worrie about it.

no i'm not local whin, have you had a pm to then? i would love to if i was closer. i'm sure my pure grey could manage more than 3 rabbits out of 50 runs. so it all comes down to no one is aloud to say nothing bad about the malamute x coz they aint seen them run but its OK for them to slate a pure grey (mine) which they aint seen run neither. so its like deerman sez bullied at school a couple of older guys ganging up on a younger lad. i have said my piece so hopefully wont need to reply to this thread again.

my greyhound as caught more this season than most dogs catch in 3 seasons and she was off for 8 or 9 weeks to have pups, yet you refuse to say how many she as caught in one night,i know your a bull shiter.have a look back and see where i might of lied about my dogs

had a walk with flint08 and the malamute X greyhound bitch tonite, i must say she was a bigger dog than i expected my dog is 25"tts she must have been 27"tts, there wasnt a great deal out as it wasnt the best of nights but i got to see 1 or 2 runs. she was certainly no less capable than any other lurcher i have been out with and definatly wasnt lacking in speed or turning ability and paid attention up the beem at all times.

The dogs abilities are much better than you would think, overall i was plesantly suprized the dogs are doing well for there age.

considering flint08 is your relative and you used to lamp with them all the time i'm surprised you've only seen the litter run once. and you'd expect the dog to be watching the beam as they've been out since they could walk. the time is obviously showing in the dogs ability as we all know flint08 could make any dog more then average.

for a boy whos only been keeping dogs for 3 years you are a fountain of expert knowledge, who apears to know it all

I,ve always wondered bout this breeding myself, i think the ban has come too soon for ya flint, to truly show what these animals are made of ,on sites like this, but make no mistake bout it , im sure with the bone density and bite power, these animals would have no prob mixing it with all large quarry,, could have done with one years ago , when taking akis,but like the quiet life now,,
