riohog 5,696 Posted April 7, 2010 Report Share Posted April 7, 2010 well were are the good deerhound crosses now and im talking about scottish deerhound crosses dont see many ,were as years ago we all had them localy you have got to remeber ,i would have agenuine scottish deerhound tomorow if it was as handy as the dogs me and afew mates have had over the years, i would love to se a few good genuine ones that breed true like the american staghound, you know what whin ,cant remember you having a good word to say about anyones dogs apart from your mates in the states ...and ov cource your own ...... would be good to see photos of your ..superdogs , Quote Link to post

Netmaker 909 Posted April 7, 2010 Report Share Posted April 7, 2010 Sad git I am av look at most of the threads WHIN has put a reply to and he aways seems to turn thread round to his dogs no matter what the subject is about!if he thinks the staghounds over the pond are better then they are over here then why does he not either p--s off and live over there or import one of these staghounds and show us all what great dogs they are. I have just lost[in MY eyes but maybe not in other peoples]a good collie/grey x deerhound/grey she did what she had to do and I was happy with that, but for a grown man to ask another man can his dog do this that and another is to me just being a clever I am not gettin into any slaggin matches but Whin you really most stop goading people as you may bump in to them one day at a show and get a smack in the mouth. regards Netmaker Quote Link to post

WELL WHEN I WAS A KID THE FIRST TWO LADS I EVER SAW TAKE OVER A TON ON THE LAMP WERE USING A DEERHOUND X GREYHOUND 3/4 BRED AND A CUR X GREY OVER A FIRST CROSS DEERHOUND BITCH ... THESE TWO LADS AND THEIR DOGS WENT ON TO REPEAT THE PERFORMANCE NOT EVEN 3 WEEKS LATER ................. NO STAMINA ? OF COURSE , I RAN THE FENS FOR A LONG TIME ................ AND I USED MERLIN / EVE , LILEY DOGS ...... NOT DEERHOUNDS ! BUT ........................AS A GENERAL " ALL ROUNDER " THEY ARE PERHAPS MORE CAPABLE THAN THE MAJORITY OF SALUKI BASED BLOODLINES , ESPECIALLY WHERE A DOG NEEDS TO JUMP .. boyo 1,398 Posted April 7, 2010 Report Share Posted April 7, 2010 had a deerhound x greyhound bought as a pup off dave platts turned out a cracker caught long ears in the day and night on feild and fen and 3 out of 3 on the fens with big law and in front of witnesses quite a few on here rio was the bitches nane saw her run as good a mouth as any lurcher ive owned get the right one bring it up properly with patience and plenty of work and they will do the job as good as any other and better than a lot .its to easy to rubbish someone elsess dogs on these computers and remember one mans meat is another mans poison. I also have a 1st X Deerhound/Greyhound pup. In the past I've had pure Saluki and Saluki hybrids, also had Whippets and Collie X's, plus quite a few "Bitza's" so I think I can safely say I'm not "breed blind" !! For Whin to slate Whippets, Saluki's and Deerhounds is rediculess, as these breeds along with Greyhounds are probably the basis of most Lurchers ! Duckwing, believe me; there is still lads going north of the border and getting decent bags and most of the good dogs have more than a little Deerhound in them ! Cheers. Quote Link to post
