I have just seen (on a rescue site) a pedigree Poachers pocket JRT.....................................?

Ive seen some advertised before mate, I think they are usually about 8" tts.

yea mate the parson russell terrier is now pedigree, ie show dogs kennel club registered!!!!

Although if you look on epupz all the mini jack russels are pedigree so they say

Poachers pocket jrt.....the runt of the litter that no-one wanted! A friend of mine has one that is no more than 7-8 inches at the shoulder and less than 6lb in weight as an adult! Lovely dog though.

jack russells are not a recognised breed by the uk kennel club so therefore they are not pedigree, where as the parson russell is recognised by the kennel club and those parson russel terriers that are registered within the kennel club and that have kc papers are pedigree animals. You would not get a pocket parson dog though as they are a lot leggier than the jack russel terrier which varies greatly.

They arent the same, the breed standard is slightly different.

They arent the same, the breed standard is slightly different.

the jrtcgb and parson russell terrier breed standards are near enough identical, i know of parson dogs being used on jrtc bitches and vice versa. theres no difference at all to be fair mate.
