New to ferreting

Heeey, i'm new to ferreting and have just got my 1st ferret! I would like to know what shot fresh meat can i feed it and could i feed it mostly on dry food?

I also want to know how do i set a purse net? I have been going with my friends but i shoot the rabbits and don't know how to properly set them

Any shot prey would be fine, as long as it hasn't been poisoned first.

as above mate, any fresh meat really.

as for the purse net. open it up and stretch it to full length, drop the bottom ring into the hole then open the rest of the net up over the hole, place the top ring above the hole and put your peg into the ground. job done

Thanks everybody !! I also want your opinion on what to get, two hobs or a jill and a vasectomized hob? Would two hobbs from the same litter fight if kept in the same hutch?

Some people say 2 hobs will fight but ive always kept them together and never had a problem. You may want to get a gill for working, alot of people prefer them, bit smaller and less likely to lie up. However, completely your choice, everyone has there own opinions.

I have 3 hobs in a hutch and they only have a little scrap now and then I think its just play fighting they don't draw any blood or anything and also a got and jill and hob together.

I have to seperate my two hobs in the breeding season or one tries to bum the other one....they're OK the rest of the time.
