now then,

1 and a half years ago we got a parsons x terrier (dont know the full breed sorry) from an animal sanctuary.

when we got him, he was about 1 and a half years old. just coming out of the puppy stage. he was in the sanctuary because some c*nt booted him and left him in a field.

we've tried working him. showed him a few rabbits on the lamp, he's caught a few in the bush and coursed a few in the field. also chased a few squirrels. and pigeons in the air :icon_eek::clapper:

however, he's totally disobedient. when he doesn't want to, he wont. he's great on normal walks but when he gets on a scent etc. he just wont come back. sometimes he just totally ignores me and wont go in the bush. Anyone think its just too late for him? he's a great pet and was a pet before he was put in the sanctuary.

cheers for any replies. will try and put a few pics up of him.

need to know his breed please :icon_redface:

Get it back to basic training and ensure it knows you are the boss, the dog is leading you which is not the way to have things. Constant training and repetition are the only way. Any dog given half a chance will turn deaf on scent no matter if its a rescue or not.
