quiglee 3
Hi, After a couple of missed bunnies last week I decided to give my CZ 452 a good barrel clean today and then me and my brother went to our permission to re-zero the scope. After 20 mins or so the .17 was shooting smack on so we decided to have a walk to see what was about. Saw a couple of rabbits and crows but they had done one by the time we were about 300yrds away from them. Just as dusk was setting in we were on the way back to the car when we knocked a fox up out of the adjacent hedge. He ran for about 60 yrds then curiosity got the better of him and he stopped to see what had stirred him. By this time I was on my belly and looking straight down my scope ready. I pulled and 'smack', he got introduced to a 20grain V-Max. Earlier posts on here say that this calibre isn't for fox. This was taken at 100yrds and dropped like a stone. As long as you are confident that you and your gun are up for the job no problem shooting fox's with this terrific little round. If I was in any doubt about not achieving a good, clean kill then I wouldn't have taken the shot. Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
What was this 20g V-Max you were using, I can't recall ever seeing it 20g? Cheers Quote Link to post
ratattack 111
1 fox dosn't make it a suitable fox calibre Ive shot foxes with my rimfire...dosn't make it suitable for regular fox work. Fine for a close range oportunist head shot fox but not a constant foxing round. A chest shot could well have turned out pretty different Well done on the shot though. Quote Link to post
